I'm having a scattered day - I don't know what others feel when their fluoxetine doesn't seem to be doing it's job, for me though, it's scattered.

Imagine that every experience in your life is a book, and your mind/existence is a library that you keep in your head. As you grow and learn and have more to put in the library, you develop your own system of organization. The books line up on the shelf, and when you are faced with a new experience, you can look through your library and see if it's something that you know how to deal with.

I didn't know I had shelves; my life and everything in it was one huge pile of books. When I needed information, I dug through the pile to find what I needed. Eventually the pile got too much to handle, and I finally asked my doctor for advice. The meds help; they let me start sorting through the thoughts in my head, through my memories. They let me find a semblance of order.

Sometimes though, sometimes I feel like one of the bookshelves (that I am slowly learning to fill) has fallen over. Today I'm a little like that: scattered.
